We’ve painted a lot of homes across Greater Boston, but one thing we’ve always believed is that strong neighborhoods are built by the people who live and show up for them. That’s why W&F Painting Solutions LLC is proud to sponsor the Hours of Steps Jamaica Plain MA Walk Challenge, a community-focused virtual walk and step event centered right in Jamaica Plain.
This isn’t a race in the traditional sense. There’s no pressure, no strict course, and no finish-line clock ticking in your head. It’s about movement, consistency, and reconnecting with your neighborhood—something Jamaica Plain has always done well.
What Is the Hours of Steps Jamaica Plain Walk Challenge?
The idea is simple and honestly refreshing:
How many steps can you get in 24 hours?
Participants can walk anywhere:
Around Jamaica Pond
Along the Arborway
Through local side streets
Running errands
Even pacing around the house
All you need is a phone, smartwatch, or fitness tracker. At the end of the 24-hour window, you submit your step total. That’s it.
The challenge is casual, low-pressure, and built for real people with real schedules. Whether you’re already active or just looking for a reason to move a little more that day, this event meets you where you are.

Why W&F Painting Solutions Got Involved
As a painting company based in Waltham, we work in neighborhoods all over the Boston area, including Jamaica Plain. Over the years, we’ve painted homes near Centre Street, along quieter residential roads, and in classic triple-deckers that define the area.
We see firsthand how much pride people take in their homes and their neighborhoods here. Sponsoring a local movement challenge felt like a natural fit. Staying active, taking care of where you live, and investing locally all go hand in hand.
